As an organizational development consultant, Susan works with executive and leadership teams to explore the impact of different perspectives and leadership styles on team dynamics and performance. She coaches them on how to develop as individuals, understand their role within the team, and identify the perspectives from which they operate.
With over 18 years of experience in organizational effectiveness and leadership development, Susan’s work has spanned a broad spectrum of industries both in the U.S. and overseas. Born and raised in the UK, Susan earned her master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Organizational Development from the University of London. She managed executive development for Walmart prior to founding Thanatopsis Consulting, an organizational effectiveness and leadership development consultancy based in St Petersburg, FL, in 2009.
Susan currently provides comprehensive, assessment-based coaching to executives, high-potential employees, and newly-promoted leaders, engaging them in individualized development processes that focus on stakeholder feedback, personal growth, and alignment with strategic business objectives. Working with leaders transitioning to positions of business impact, she helps individuals address leadership, environmental, and cultural barriers to greater effectiveness.
As an Organizational Development Consultant, Susan works with global teams leading change and transforming cultures. She designs and facilitates customized programs focused on all aspects of leadership effectiveness, team alignment and corporate culture, talent management, high-potential leadership, and succession planning for Fortune 500 firms. Her work is grounded in assessment data that accelerates the development process, enabling teams to quickly get to a place of understanding, appreciation and action. Susan is a Birkman Master Certified Professional and Master Trainer and is certified in the Conflict Dynamics Profile and the CCL 360 Assessment Suite. Susan’s methods for working with leaders —whether it be in the C-Suite or on the front lines —deliver powerful, lasting results to individuals and organizations.
